The Arcofsc Mental Health Services is committed to the emotional, behavioral and overall mental wellness of all individuals, not only people with IDD. Our Mental Health Services focus on addressing each person’s mental health concerns to increase independence, adjust to community social settings and reenter the workforce by taking a comprehensive and integrated approach to the connection between physical and emotional stability.
Individuals participate in private and/or group sessions to address their personal concerns. Some participants are also able to practice the skills they are learning while gaining employment experience and earning a paycheck through our Simulated Work options.
Mental Health Services are available at our Downtown (Davis Street) and Westside (Wesconnett Blvd.) locations for both full and partial days. Mental health support is also accessible to residents at The Arc Jacksonville Village.
Individual Therapy is private one-on-one sessions focusing on the individual’s personal concerns, behaviors and reactions as well as managing symptoms. Therapy can also include family members to help build support and understanding among the most important people in a person’s life.
Individual or Family Therapy is available in-person or with telehealth services using secure Zoom accounts.
A more therapeutic approach, group therapy is designed to assist people in communicating and connecting with peers and important people in their lives. Group therapy focuses more on developing empathy and accepting differences while exploring similarities with others.
